In short

Quick picks.

A pottery studio, a cooking school and a paint night business sell the same thing, a few spots in a class on a set date. These are the tools we would shortlist for that, by what matters most to you.

  • Workshops, courses and private parties. FullClass. Every feature on every plan, from $5 a month, and no cut of your sales.
  • Free classes, or a free plan. Bookwhen. Its free plan takes up to 50 bookings a month for free events.
  • Text message reminders. Bookeo, which sends them. FullClass sends email only.
  • Classes and appointments on one budget. SimplyBook.me, with a free plan and many payment providers.
  • Mostly private lessons. Acuity Scheduling, which is built around appointments.
  • Monthly memberships and a branded app. Momence or OfferingTree.
The list

Seven booking tools for studios, ranked.

Ranked for a studio that sells a set number of spots in workshops, courses and classes, mostly to people who book a few times a year. If you run on monthly members instead, read the list from the bottom.

1. FullClass

Best for workshops, courses and private parties sold to the public.

FullClass is built for classes with a set number of spots. Customers book several spots in one checkout without making an account, sign your waiver, and see your cancellation policy before they pay. It includes courses sold as one booking, gift cards, class passes, add-ons such as clay or a materials kit, promo codes, waitlists, and private events with a deposit. Sell on a hosted booking page or a widget on your own website.

Plans are priced by how many spots you schedule a month. Lite is $5 for 100 spots, Starter $20 for 600, Growth $59 for 2,000 and Pro $129 for 5,000. Every feature is on every plan, we take no cut of your sales, and payments go straight to your own Stripe or Square account. 30-day free trial.

Pick something else if you need text message reminders, sell recurring monthly memberships, or mostly book private lessons by the hour.

2. Bookwhen

Best for a simple timetable of classes and courses, with a free plan for free events.

Bookwhen sells classes, multi-day courses and workshops from a booking page you can put on your website. The free plan takes up to 50 bookings a month, for free events only. Lite adds payments and discounts. Waitlists, vouchers, passes, reminder emails and memberships start on Standard. Booking forms can carry an attached waiver.

Lite is C$20 a month for 300 bookings, Standard C$35 for 800 and Plus C$65 for 1,800, with two months free paid yearly (prices shown in Canadian dollars when we checked). Bookwhen says the plan is its only charge. Payments go through Stripe or PayPal. 14-day free trial.

3. Bookeo

Best for schools and course providers that want text reminders and a long-running tool.

Bookeo's classes product handles classes with seat limits, courses booked in one go, waitlists, gift vouchers, prepaid packages, recurring payments and private slots, and it can send text message reminders. Digital waivers are an add-on from $9 a month.

Plans run from $14.95 to $119.95 a month by bookings, with no commission. You connect your own Stripe, Square or PayPal. 30-day free trial.

4. SimplyBook.me

Best for studios that mix classes and appointments on a tight budget.

SimplyBook.me books classes, appointments and repeating sessions paid in one go. Gift cards, packages, memberships and intake forms are optional extras it calls custom features, and each plan allows a set number of them. We did not find a waitlist or a signed waiver on the pages we checked.

The free plan takes 50 bookings with one provider. Basic is C$18 a month for 100 bookings, or C$15 a month paid yearly, and Standard is C$40 for 500 (prices shown in Canadian dollars when we checked). It charges no transaction fee and works with Stripe, Square, PayPal and many other providers. 14-day free trial.

5. Acuity Scheduling

Best for private lessons with the occasional group class.

Acuity is built around appointments, and adds group classes with a spot limit and class series paid up front. Its waitlist works for appointments but not classes, and agreements are a checkbox rather than a signature. Gift certificates, packages and memberships start on Standard.

Plans are $20, $34 or $61 a month, with no fee on payments, through your own Stripe, Square or PayPal. 7-day free trial.

6. OfferingTree

Best for a solo teacher who wants a website, bookings and memberships in one place.

OfferingTree combines a website with classes, appointments, courses, workshops, memberships and packages. Waivers and intake forms can be required before booking. The waitlist starts on Pro.

Essentials is $35 a month, or $26 a month paid yearly, plus a 2.9% platform fee on sales. Pro is $59 a month, or $49 paid yearly, with no platform fee. Studio plans for teams start at $120 a month. Payments go through Stripe. 14-day free trial.

7. Momence

Best for studios that run on memberships, semesters and a branded app.

Momence handles classes, appointments, semesters that enroll a customer in a whole series, packs, memberships, gift cards and waivers, and offers custom branded apps. Its prices and fees are not published. Its pricing page asks you to book a demo for a quote. Payments go through a new Stripe account created through Momence.

Prices are per month, before tax, from each vendor's own pricing page on October 31, 2026, and card processing fees apply on top. Before you choose

What a pottery, cooking or art studio needs.

  • A spot count per class. Six wheels, twelve cooking stations, twenty easels. Selling stops when they are gone.
  • Several spots in one checkout. Couples and friends book together, so one person should pay for all of them at once.
  • Courses sold as one booking. A six-week wheel-throwing course is one purchase, not six.
  • Gift cards. Classes are a popular gift, and December is when they sell.
  • Materials and add-ons. Clay, aprons, a take home kit or a firing fee, added at checkout.
  • Waivers and a cancellation policy. Signed and agreed before the customer pays, not on paper at the door.
  • Private parties. Birthdays and team events, quoted, with a deposit to hold the date.
  • The total cost in a busy month. Add the plan price, any fee on your sales and card processing, for a month like December.
Questions

Frequently asked questions.

What is the best booking software for a pottery studio?

For a studio that sells wheel and handbuilding classes, multi-week courses, gift cards and private parties, we would start with FullClass, then Bookwhen and Bookeo. If most of your income is open studio memberships billed monthly, look at Momence or OfferingTree first.

What is the best booking software for cooking classes?

Cooking classes are usually booked in pairs and given as gifts, so look for several spots in one checkout and gift cards on the plan you can afford. FullClass includes both on every plan. Bookeo and Bookwhen sell gift vouchers too, on their higher plans in Bookwhen's case.

Is there free class booking software?

Bookwhen and SimplyBook.me both have free plans of up to 50 bookings. Bookwhen's free plan is for free events only. Of the paid plans here, FullClass starts lowest at $5 a month for 100 spots.

Which booking tools take a cut of each sale?

OfferingTree's Essentials plan adds a 2.9% platform fee on sales. Momence does not publish its fees. FullClass, Bookwhen, Bookeo, SimplyBook.me and Acuity charge no fee on your sales. Card processing is charged on top by Stripe, Square or PayPal whichever you choose.

How do I move my studio from another platform?

Export your schedule, customers and gift cards from your current platform, then import them into FullClass from one spreadsheet. You see what will be created before anything is saved. Run both side by side until your last old booking has happened.
