How Stirring It Up runs its cooking classes on FullClass.
Stirring It Up is a hands-on cooking school in Calgary. Its classes, gift cards and private parties are all booked through FullClass.
Three booking systems, and none of them fit.
Over the years, Stirring It Up's owner Jennifer ran her classes on Setmore, then Bookeo, and sold some on Eventbrite. Each one was missing features she needed, felt outdated, or was hard to use day to day. Most cooking schools, pottery studios and workshop businesses have been through at least one of them.
When Jennifer used it, Setmore only took one seat per booking, so a family of four had to book four separate times. On Eventbrite, her customers paid a fee on top of her ticket price. Eventbrite's service fee in Canada is 3.7% plus $1.79 a ticket, which adds about 5.6% to a typical Stirring It Up class.
Bookeo was the hardest. Its screens felt archaic and clunky, and for Jennifer it was scary to use. Simple changes could have unpredictable results, like a price change also changing classes she had already scheduled. When something went wrong, there was little help to be found.
What changed for Jennifer.

How a class runs.
Stirring It Up teaches hands-on Italian cooking, like fresh pasta, gnocchi, ravioli, pizza and tiramisu, in two Calgary kitchens. Each class is set up once in FullClass with its venue, price and number of spots, and new dates are added to the schedule from there.
When someone books, they are asked about dietary requirements and allergies, so Jennifer knows before anyone walks in. Customers get a confirmation email straight away and, for her regular classes, a reminder a few hours before. The instructor gets an email with who is coming.
Every class shows up on Jennifer's Google Calendar, and customers who opt in to her emails are added to her MailerLite list on their own. Payments go through her own Square account, so the money lands with her, not with FullClass.
